Upgrades

As part of the business performance guarantees, Mission offers both technology and obsolescence guarantees.

From time to time cellular carriers transition their network architecture to newer technologies that require the cellular radio in remote terminal units (RTUs) to be replaced. Mission will proactively contact customer organizations and arrange for the newer technology be delivered to the site at no charge. Radio upgrades generally take about ten minutes to complete.

M110 and M800 RTUs are no longer for sale, but are still supported. They can also be upgraded to MyDro 150 or M850 RTUs. The original investment is prorated towards the newer model (100% allowance the first year, 80% the second year, and so on). Contact Mission or the local distributor for a price estimate. Once instructions are received, Mission will ship the customer the necessary parts for a convenient upgrade including the appropriate cover or bracket to accommodate the LCD screen. The MyDro terminals and mounting screws are in the same place as the M110 and M800 series so the upgrade is expeditious.

M110 RTUs can be upgraded at any time, over-the-air, to the M800 for the difference in MSRP of hardware and service. A simple call is all that is required. Once upgraded, the analog values will be transmitted every two minutes, or with a 5% change. Pump states will be transmitted as they change.  The additional analog data is useful for trending purposes, and the pump state changes enable Volumetric Flow Calculations.

The RTU comparison chart describes many of the notable differences between RTUs. For customers who already have RTUs, a  brief summary of the reasons to upgrade to the MyDro include: simultaneous expanded I/O, higher auxiliary output voltage, and the local configuration on the LCD screen.
