In Sewer Wireless Alarm System
Customers challenged MISSION to take our famous wireless SCADA system and make
it work below ground, in a sewer system, to detect and report sewer surcharges
and floods. Tough assignment! But MISSION did it.
The M-80 is a waterproof CSO/SSO tracking and alarm system that mounts in a
sewer just below the manhole lid. The enclosure houses all electronics, radio
and battery yet is only about the size of a paperback book. Two normal sewer floats attach via waterproof
connectors to signal when the sewer is surcharging and when levels get to flood
stage. The M-80 will instantly transmit these alarms via the ultra reliable
cellular network to MISSION's central computers. From there phone calls,
pages, faxes or emails notify utility personnel of the alarm. The clear message
describes the alarm, the unit’s name and the location. This allows utility crews
the critical minutes to react. All alarm records can be accessed via
MISSION's
secure customer web site. Now you can easily report when the surcharge started
and stopped.
5 Year+ Battery
The M-80 was built with the sewer environment in mind. All hardware is either
tough plastic or 316 stainless steel. The electronics are designed for
use in Class 1, Division 2, Groups 3 & 4 hazardous environments. The M-80 rated
to last over 5 years on its internal batteries so no expensive site visits to
maintain the system. The unit automatically checks in every 3 days and reports
cellular system health and battery voltages.
Easy to Install
The MISSION M-80 takes less than an hour to install with normal tools. No
conduit through the road, no jack hammers to dig holes, no phone company to run
lines. MISSION supplies everything. All cellular signaling, web use and alarm
notifications are included in the flat monthly fee. And the M-80 can be moved
from site to site with little effort.
This is undoubtedly the most reliable, yet easy to use CSO/SSO alarm system
ever.
