ATLANTA, July 01, 2004-- MISSION Communications announced
the release of their new software for Internet connected
cell phones and PDAs. Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)
compliant devices with Internet connectivity can now view
virtually all MISSION data screens that were formerly only
available on full size computer screens. To allow the data
to be seen on the small WAP screens, and to have them load
quickly, a complete new set of WAP compliant screens needed
to be developed.
"Now you can have personnel in the field with access to
their systems data, quickly and easily. With all the
pressure on municipalities to do more with less, automating
the flow of crucial system status information saves time and
money," said John Collings, President of MISSION. The WAP
screen software allows you to see real time status of
monitored sites as well as recent historical trends.
Multiple security levels allow users to simply view the data
or makes changes at the site.
"We asked MISSION to help automate our system and push
status data out to the field personnel real time. This new
feature helps my people in the field be much more efficient,
and that saves money. We have over 125 MISSION units in the
Monterey division alone," said Tom Peterson, Operations
Superintendent of California American Water, Monterey
Division.
The new screens can be accessed at http://123mc.com/wap and are
available at no extra charge to all MISSION customers.
Since 1999, MISSION's core competencies have been in
national public wireless data networks, Internet
technologies, databases, graphical user interfaces and
computer telephony. MISSION specializes in combining these
technologies into "packaged SCADA" systems primarily for the
water and wastewater industries. Many of MISSION's features
are so advanced, or unique, they have patents or are patent
pending.
