ATLANTA, June 11, 2002-- MISSION Communications received
a Purchase Order today from Hilton Head PSD #1 Wastewater
Utility for 93 Mission Model 100 units to monitor their lift
stations. Tom Jenkins, Supervisor of the Utility said, "We
have a large number of small lift stations due to the very
high water table here on the island. We explored many
options and MISSION's Model 100 system was the clear
winner." The M100's are simple enough to install that Hilton
Head personnel will install the MISSION RTU's themselves.
Hilton Head already had a full SCADA system on most of their
major lift stations on the island. The MISSION system will
provide many of the existing system SCADA functions and a
few that it doesn't. "Hilton Head was very interested in
automating personnel tasks to save time," said John Collings,
President of MISSION. He went on to say, "the automated site
log in and pump runtime analysis features were key in their
decision; especially since our system would automatically
notify them if a pump wasn't running right."
Since 1999, MISSION's core competencies have been in
national public wireless data networks, Internet
technologies, databases, graphical user interfaces and
computer telephony. MISSION specializes in combining these
technologies into "packaged SCADA" systems primarily for the
water and wastewater industries. Many of MISSION's features
are so advanced, or unique, they have patents or are patent
pending.
